Factory intercoolers are a compromise on space, quality and performance. After taking a tour of the Cross Country Intercoolers factory in Adelaide, and taking a drive in the owner’s LandCruiser, we were simply convinced that Cross Country knows how to make an intercooler. And they’re still proudly made in Australia. Grant the owner even showed us the first intercooler the company ever made … which is still in operation. In fact, he was bold enough to say they have not had one intercooler come back to them for a warranty claim. How is that for pride in the product? If you own a vehicle with a factory-fitted intercooler, and are thinking about squeezing some more ponies from the stock setup (or just don’t trust the one already there), you could do much worse for a Christmas present than getting some spending money to pass over to Cross Country. Oh, if you are in Adelaide, pop in and ask if Grant will take you for a drive in his LandCruiser ute. You won’t be able to wipe the smile off your face!
