Underbody protection is serious business, especially when you consider vital components such as sumps. Crack a sump in the middle of nowhere, and your essentially not going anywhere. The latest release from TJM is a sump guard for the VW Amarok. Made from 3mm sheet steel, this sump guard is also press-folded in strategic locations to increase strength without adding weight. For corrosion resistance, the entire guard is electro-coated black (rather than powder coated), as TJM claims electro-coating gets into all the nooks and crannies – making it much more resistant to chipping and scratches. The TJM people believe this so fervently, they tell us their sump guards have been tested to be corrosion resistant for up to 500 hours. While this latest release is to suit VW Amaroks, TJM has a wide range of underbody protection systems available to suit other vehicles too.
