CAMERON CORNER STORE: FENN MILLER

“You beauty, all roads are opened now, including the New Strzelecki Track which had been closed due to flooding and in rubbish condition. Noccundra and Tibooburra had also been closed off due to over an inch of rain, but that has cleared now. In fact, all roads have opened up as of last week and as a result we are starting to see more traffic, thank goodness. It had been a fairly slow start to the season”.

BIRDSVILLE ROADHOUSE: PETER BARNES

“The Birdsville Track from Mungerannie to Marree requires some caution as there is some ponded water on the tracks. The Birdsville Inside Track is also closed as a result of flooding. Mount Hopeless has lived up to its name, and there are plenty of soft sections and wheel ruts to take care over – remember you are on holidays not in a race or competition. We have also heard reports that Cordillo Downs Road is closed, specifically Innamincka to Arrabury turnoff due to rain”.

ARCHER RIVER ROADHOUSE: BRAD ALLAN

“Plenty of areas are open up here at the moment, including Bloomfield Road and Archer Point Road. Mclvor Road to Starcke River Boat Ramp is open only to four-wheel drives, and care is required due to bad wheel ruts and washouts. Mt Webb and Wakooka Road is definitely closed in the Kalpowar section however, but other than that it is a good time to get up here”.

NORTHERN TERRITORY:

Broadarrow 4X4 track is closed between Wickham track and the Buntine Highway intersection. Park facilities are also closed in this area. Road damage has closed the road between Ross Highway and Ringwod Road intersection as well. Oolloo Crossing has been closed due to flooding in the area, and is not safe to pass until further notice.
