It’s cold in Russia. Really, really, really cold. Like, the coldest place outside of Antarctica. So I guess it makes sense that if they want to actually use their off-road machines, they need to be good in snow.
This epic Russian-built 6×6 has tyres so big it actually floats above snow and water, and there’s even a matching camper trailer to keep you out of the cold when you decide that you’d like to stop driving do whatever the locals do—presumably drink vodka.
Only four of these exist, and they were purpose-built for a 6000km expedition over twenty days from Ekaterinburg – Yamal along the Ural Mountains. It’s equipped with a Toyota engine and driveline, which is good, because Toyota parts rarely break…and it doesn’t exactly look like there’s a service station nearby for help. It also carries over 400 litres of fuel onboard to give it a massive range.
