2020 Land Rover Defender 90 on-sale in October

The limited run 2020 Land Rover Defender 90 First Edition P400 will go on-sale in Australia from October this year with the full range on-sale here from December.

The limited-run Land Rover Defender 90 First Edition P400 (100 units) will be available from October 2020 with the full range of Defender 90’s to be available from December. Jaguar Land Rover Australia said it had made the early announcement after receiving strong online interest in both the 110 and the 90 models. In making the announcement, Jaguar Land Rover Australia Managing Director, Mark Cameron said, “The compact, short-wheelbase Defender 90 is the perfect vehicle for Australian conditions and joins the 110 as the most capable and durable family of SUVs in the world. We are delighted with the interest shown in the 110, and have a high level of confidence that the new Defender 90 will prove just as popular.”

The on-sale of the 90 follows the on-sale of the 110 range in August this year. Only 100 First Edition P400 (this things runs a 3.0-litre straight six with 48V mild hybrid making 294kW and 550Nm of torque) models will be available in Australia, all painted in Pangea Green with a Fuji White roof.

According to Finbar McFall, Land Rover Global Product Marketing Director, “We have experienced unprecedented demand for New Defender 110 and the official introduction of Defender 90 is sure to boost interest. As the family grows to include an efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain, we look forward to continuing this success. If our experience with the Defender 110 is anything to go by, we can expect over half of customers to opt for one of the four Accessory Packs, making New Defender the most accessorised and personalised Land Rover we have ever produced.”

The Defender 90 comes with the unique option of being available as six-seater thanks to its innovative front centre jump seat. Since the world reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2019 Land Rover claims to have experienced unprecedented interest in the new Defender. Pricing for the Defender 90 First Edition and the rest of the range are to be announced closer to the launch date, although Land Rover has already released pricing for the 110.
