The Foton Tunland is the underdog in the off-road ute market, despite having some impressive specs on paper. These include a Cummins sourced 2.8L turbo-diesel engine, 5-speed Getrag transmission and suspension based on the Toyota HiLux just to name a few. And then there is the price – starting from just $25,990 for the 4X4 single cab. So, how does Foton decide to move a few more units? By including a free towbar (rated to 2,500kg) for anyone buying a dual-cab Tunland, while stocks last. The deal includes fitting at one of Foton’s 39 dealerships Australia-wide; as well as including a towball and wiring harness.
Foton recognised that the majority of buyers are ticking the box that says ‘one towbar please’ when signing on the dotted line. So they are ‘shouting the bar’ as they put it. And while a free towbar is a free towbar (and nothing to laugh at), we have to ask… is that enough to make people want to buy a Foton Tunland?
