Real people, real experience at the Perth show

Show Director Peter Woods reckons the Perth 4WD and Adventure Show isn’t just about browsing shiny new gear. Rather, it’s about connecting with real people. These are folks living the outdoor lifestyle every single day.

“The 4WD Shows bring together people who are living their dream,” Peter said. “They’re working in the outdoor industry and spending their weekends getting out there. Moreover, they’re living the lifestyle that they sell. People who have taken their passions to different levels by sharing their stories on TV or social media.”

This is what sets the Perth show apart. You’re not getting sales pitches from people in suits. Instead, you’re getting advice from blokes and families who’ve been stuck in the same sand. They’ve dealt with the same mechanical headaches. And they genuinely want to share what they’ve learned.

For 2025, the show is expanding into Taylor Reserve. This brings an extra 8,000 square metres of space. Meanwhile, with the new Boorloo Bridge now open, getting to McCallum Park on the banks of the Swan River is easier than ever.

Master your towing and recovery skills at the Perth 4WD show

Here’s where the Perth 4WD and Adventure Show really delivers for caravan owners. The Toyo Tires Open Country Adventure Zone isn’t just about watching from the sidelines. You’ll see technical demonstrations that could save your bacon. Especially when you’re 500 kilometres from the nearest town.

The zone features 4WD Recovery Demos. Experienced trainers walk you through techniques every touring rig should know. Additionally, there’s the popular Traction Track presented by Offroad Adventure Training. You’ll learn how your vehicle performs on and off the road. Furthermore, the Bush Mechanics Zone, sponsored by Terrain Tamer 4WD, tackles real-world problems. These always seem to happen at the least convenient time.

Hot tip: These recovery demonstrations are pure gold for new caravan owners. In fact, watching professionals demonstrate proper snatch strap technique could prevent thousands in damage to your rig. Similarly, learning how to use recovery boards properly is invaluable.

Bush mechanics zone: 4WD problem-solving in the middle of nowhere

Every 4WDer knows that Murphy’s Law applies double when you’re remote. The Bush Mechanics Zone demos run regularly throughout the day. They focus on the basics of what can go wrong with your vehicle. More importantly, how to fix it as simply as possible.

This is practical knowledge you can’t get from YouTube videos alone. Seeing these fixes demonstrated in person builds confidence. You can ask questions. You’ll understand the why behind each repair. Therefore, you’ll be better prepared when dealing with a breakdown in the bush.

The Engel Bush Camp Stage is back

Meet the content creators at the Perth 4WD and Adventure Show

The Engel Bush Camp Stage is back with a stellar lineup of guests. Graham Cahill from 4WD24/7, Jase Andrews from All 4 Adventure, and Ronny Dahl are all confirmed. More names will be announced. Hosted by The Duck from the Offroad and Camping Show, this is your chance to hear stories. Real stories from people who’ve been there and done that.

The Content Creator area brings popular YouTube personalities to the show floor. You can check out their vehicles. Hear about their latest adventures. Additionally, get the inside story on places you’ve been planning to visit. These aren’t just influencers. They’re everyday Australians who’ve turned their passion for exploration into something they can share.

Engel TBarra Tank fishing demonstrations at Perth outdoor adventure show

Fishing zone and the Engel TBarra Tank

The bigger and better Fishing Zone features the new-look Engel Fishing Stage. The Engel TBarra Tank (formerly the Engel Aquatank) hosts regular demonstrations. They run all day with a cast of presenters. Mark LeCras from Channel 7’s The 4WD Adventure Show hosts the stage.

You’ll get tips and tricks on using different lures and gear. Information on prime fishing spots and what to target. Plus, plenty of stories about the ones that got away. There will also be displays from several fishing tackle exhibitors. Government agency displays provide information on fishing and boating regulations.

Jayco caravan displays at Perth 4WD and Adventure Show 2025

ARB and Jayco celebrate 50 years of Australian adventure

2025 is a landmark year for two icons of the Australian outdoor industry. Both are celebrating their 50th anniversaries.

ARB started in 1975 when Melbourne bloke Tony Brown got fed up. Broken-down vehicles and dodgy parts on remote trips were the problem. His solution? Build tough equipment that would stand up to the rugged Aussie outback. What started with handcrafted roof racks and bullbars quickly turned into a trusted name. Half a century later, ARB is still going strong. You’ll see their latest innovations at the Perth 4WD show.

Jayco Australia also began in 1975. Gerry Ryan and a team of eight started building camper trailers in a small shed in Cranbourne. That first year, they manufactured 526 campers. These days, more than 25,000 Jayco vans roll out every year. Founder Gerry Ryan is still involved in day-to-day operations. He credits using Australian-made products wherever possible as key to their success. Jayco will have their latest range on display at the show.

Show your dirt competition returns to the Perth show

The exclusive Show Your Dirt show and shine competition is back. It’s sponsored by SP Tools. Sam Eyles from Built Not Bought has hand-selected his top 20 vehicles. They’ll be displayed and judged at the show. If you’ve built something special, this is your chance. Show it off to people who’ll properly appreciate the work you’ve put in. Winners will be announced Sunday afternoon.

Isuzu Iron Summit extreme 4WD ride at Perth adventure show

Isuzu Iron Summit: extreme 4WD experience

The Isuzu Iron Summit offers visitors an extreme 4WD experience you won’t forget. Strap in as your driver takes you up the Iron Summit. It’s a seriously steep 45-degree climb. You’ll go up and over a custom-built hydraulic ramp six metres into the air. All from the comfort of an Isuzu D-MAX or MU-X. It’s a thrilling demonstration of what modern 4WDs can handle when pushed to their limits.

Plan your next journey at the Western 4WDriver Travel Zone

The Western 4WDriver Travel Zone brings together tour operators and representatives from different regions. They’ll help you plan your next adventure. Whether you’re considering the Gibb River Road, exploring the Kimberley, or heading down south to the karri forests, you can speak to people who know these areas intimately.

Stop by to hear their stories. See their photos and videos. Get inspired for where your rig might take you next. This is where vague plans turn into concrete itineraries.

Try before you buy: new products at the Perth 4WD and Adventure Show

The Perth 4WD and Adventure Show features all the big brands. Caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes are all on display. New 4WDs and SUVs, camping and 4WD accessories, fishing gear and more. Peter Woods emphasises that this is the show for new product releases. There are plenty of launches from major brands.

“We also like to give a try-before-you-buy type experience where we can,” Peter said. “We see this event as an ideal place to get up close and personal with the products. It gives them a real experience to help in decision making.”

Whether you’re researching your first caravan purchase or considering an upgrade, being able to walk through different models is invaluable. You can compare layouts. Talk to the people who build them. No amount of online research replaces actually stepping into a van. You need to see if it suits your needs.

Hot tip: Record model numbers, dealer contacts, and specific features you like in each caravan or camper trailer. Trust me, after looking at twenty different layouts, they all start to blur together.
