It is often the little things that make the biggest difference, and this would have to be the smallest item we have ever discussed in Gear News. The Off-Road Alternator Output Compensator (or AOC for short) is a clever little gadget that solves the problem of variable rate alternators not providing full output, making it impossible for a dual battery system to run effectively. The most common solution in the past has been to install a DC-to-DC charger, which will output a constant stream of 12V goodness. This simple device however costs under $100 and takes around ten minutes to fit according to Piranha Off-Road. Currently available for a limited range of vehicles, with more on the way!
