LONG LIVE THE JIMNY!

Suzuki has officially ended production of the beloved little Jimny (as we know it). One of the few last survivors that still run a live axle front and rear, it’s a legendary little battler. Time waits for nobody however, and progress kills those who get left behind. (Cue Everybody Hurts, while you think about the Defender and GU Patrol, and sorrow fills your soul).  The Patrol is still around, but not as we used to love it. And the Defender will also return, in some shape or form. And don’t worry, so will the Jimny.

Suzuki is making way for the new model, which has been leaked in all of it’s retro-cool glory. Some speculative thinking and staring at pixelated images indicates it should still keep it’s live axles as well. Off-road capability seems to stay very important for this new model. When can we expect to see the new Jimny? Reports indicate it should be revealed before the end of the year, and available early-ish 2019. If you want to land yourself a current-spec Jimny, I’d get on the blower to Suzuki straight away, because stocks will be now well-and-truly limited.
