It has been a very long time since Yokohama has released a new mud terrain tyre, after having a successful run out of the previous chunky directional offering. Speaking of chunky, the MT G003 muddies continue that trend… however they have moved away from the previous directional tyre design. Yokohama is also saying that this latest offering will last up to 8% longer than the tyre it replaces thanks to the high-density tread compound used. A feature worth noting is the serious sidewall armour that not only increases traction off-road, it also offers protection to the sidewalls. While it is an extremely aggressive looking tyre, Yokohama tells us this tyre is 2.3db quieter on-road compared to the previous MT+G001.
