Clever camping, luxury accessories and making life easy is what the future is all about. Camping has been around since pretty much the beginning of time. But it hasn’t always been as glamourous as it is today. People are constantly looking for new ways to accessories their campsites, but more importantly, they’re looking for ways to make camping cleverer.

If you’re new to this whole camping gig. Or are just looking for some ‘game changing’ accessories, then these 5 products will have you drooling!

Clearview Powerboards

The Clearview Powerboards burst onto the four-wheel driving scene in the past couple of years. For the longest time, you had to choose between a factory side-step, an aftermarket step or even a rock slider, but there were 2 major drawbacks with the design. The first was the loss in sill-clearance when fitted. The second was they didn’t usually hang down enough to provide a decent enough step for the vertically challenged or older demographic.

The Clearview Powerboards are an electronically retractable sidestep that is triggered off the vehicle’s door sensor. When the door opens, the Powerboard lowers from the sill up to 300mm providing an excellent step to get up and into the vehicle. Then, once you’re in and the door is shut, they automatically retract up to the sill, leaving you with great clearance. They’re IP68 rated. They can handle up to 300kgs. And they stretch the whole way from wheel-arch to wheel-arch meaning the back seat passengers get the same luxury as the front row passengers.

A nifty accessory if you ask us!

Oztent ‘AirTent’ Inflatable 4 Person Tent

So, you don’t want a roof top tent. You’re sick of a bulky swag taking up all your space. And you’re fed up with tents that need a million poles to set up. Well boy oh boy do I have the solution for you! The Oztent ‘AirTent’ is here to shake up the tent and swag world by making it easier than ever to setup your camp.

It’s simple, it’s compact when packed up, it’s comfortable and most of all, it’s super-quick to setup. The ‘AirTent’ does away with annoying poles and uses Oztent’s ‘Rapid Air Frame Technology’ to keep this tent standing. The included pump means this tent is quick to setup, is light, and couldn’t be simpler. Available in a 4- or 6-person variant, the air frame will keep you dry, out of the elements and won’t let you down in a hurry! We’ve recently use the 4 person version on a long weekend and found no lack of inflation at all.

Rhino-Rack StowIt System

The roof-rack industry is certainly a dinosaur, there’s no denying that. It’s not often we see companies innovating and changing up the way we utilise our roof-top storage area. But Rhino-Rack have done just that.

The ‘StowIt’ system by Rhino-Rack is a versatile and secure way to make mounting accessories to your Rhino-Rack roof rack easier than ever. Picture this. You’ve got your Rhino Rack fitted, and now you want to quickly fit an awning. But not have it permanently fixed, that’s where the Rack It system shines.

Half the StowIt brackets live on the roof rack. The other half on your awning. With just a few bolts, you can quickly mount and change the accessories. One weekend you can have the awning fixed to the side, but then for during the week, you can undo the awning mounts, slide the awning off and fit a conduit tube to those very same brackets. Handy for tradies who use their rigs work work and play.

There’s mounts and brackets for awnings, shovels, lightbars and pretty much everything in-between which means you’ve got versatility you never knew existed!

Clearview Power Slide

You’ve heard of the Clearview Easy Slide, but we’re about to take clever camping and easy beer access to a whole new level, introducing the 12v Clearview PowerSlide.

When it comes to fridge access in a Ute or wagon setup, you pretty much always need a drop slide of some sort. Whilst the manual drop down fridge slide has been the answer to a lot of people’s prayers, there’s been a call for more. More ease, more luxury, more gadgets, and overall, a better solution. The Powerslide is a 12v variant of the original Easy Slide, operated from a simple button.

The clever piece of tech gently lowers and raises your fridge up to almost 300m allowing hugely increased ease of access to those frosty beers. The Powerslide can handle nearly 200kgs of weight, is powder coated, and has a much more compact footprint than the Easy Slide making it perfect for people who are space-conscious in their setups.

Plus, who doesn’t love an extra 12v gadget to brag to their mates about!

ARB Slide Out Kitchen

Having a completely free-standing kitchen in the middle of the bush doesn’t really sound possible does it? Well, now thanks to ARB it absolutely is! The ARB Slide Kitchen is a revolutionary free-standing kitchen complete with all the mod-cons you’d expect to see in a house!

Cooking while camping can often be a little tricky. You’re struggling with a trestle table, the wind is blowing out your cheap butane stove, and then there’s the nightmare of doing dishes without a proper sink. ARB have listened, and not just for ute owners, there’s even an ARB Slide Kitchen for the wagon fans in the audience. When it comes to appointments, we’re talking about a three-burner stove, a pop-out sink, a stack of bench space, and even storage for cutlery and other utensils.

Ultimate camping luxury is now just a slide out kitchen away, and we love it!

With a touch of luxury and a few of these gangster accessories, you too can enjoy some clever camping! The future is looking bright, and camping is constantly getting more comfortable, and we’re not mad about it at all!
