Cruisemaster has developed a new and improved DO35 V3Plus hitch to replace the existing DO35 V3 models, with upgraded features to the bumper and cap that have come about as a direct result of customer feedback.
At a glance, the new features of the Cruisemaster DO35 V3Plus hitch include a Checklock gen.2 dust cap that’s reportedly much easier to secure, while the revised bumper section adds protection during use. User feedback has also resulted in the development of new rear-support webbing that allows for mounting upside down on the underside of the drawbar.
The new DO35 V3Plus retains the standard features of the previous version including two-stage ADR-compliant locking mechanism, a low profile and superb articulation. These features help to make the DO35 hitch a favourite with off-road tourers and towers. In addition, the DO35 V3Plus hitch is suitable for use with most brands of weight-distribution hitches, while forged fasteners and a lightweight one-piece cast housing mean there’s less to fail, plus it’s an easy fit for most Australian units with a standard bolt pattern and a 7/8-inch shaft.
Given the potential harsh operating environments the DO35 V3Plus hitch will operate in, it has built-in rust protection through a combination of ZN-NI and E-coat, and has greasable bushes for easy maintenance and noise-free towing.
There are no changes to fitment requirements from the previous model, unless choosing to mount upside down to the underside of the drawbar (now an option with V3Plus models). The mounting pattern remains the same.
Cruisemaster states that the DO35 V3Plus has launched at the same price point as its predecessor.
