We have to come clean from the start, and say that air mattresses usually offer a terrible night’s sleep. They leak, they aren’t insulated (so they make you cold at night), and the agony of inflating one by mouth is a pain no person deserves to endure. Which is why we like the Klymit sleeping pad… it takes away all of these negatives, while offering some extra key benefits at the same time. Firstly, it packs up so small you could mistake it for a stubby cooler. Secondly, it will inflate in just 10-15 breaths (depending on how shagged your lungs are from your previous air mattress). Finally, there is the option of purchasing an insulated version for a genuinely warm sleep in the cooler months. Klymit Sleeping Pads are comfortable too; after trying them on the sharp car park surface here at Unsealed 4X4 HQ there was a unanimous decision made… an afternoon siesta was definitely the most efficient use of our time for the rest of the day. Once we awoke several days later, it was decided these sleeping pads would make for a great addition to any swag, roof-top tent or fast-fold tent.
