Melbourne Boat Show goes virtual

Those looking for a new boat to haul behind their 4×4 will be able to check out what’s on offer at the ‘virtual’ Melbourne Boat Show from the comfort of home… or on their boat… or while dropping a line.

The Melbourne Boat Show is going virtual so those after a new watercraft to hitch up behind their rigs can see what’s new on their computer or device.

The Boat Show is 59 years strong and organisers say they are not about to end that streak, so this year the show will be known as the The Melbourne Virtual Boat & Fishing Show.

Visitors will be able to browse a large range of the world’s best boats and step aboard via walkthrough videos, virtual tours, click-through galleries and live chats with boating experts.

“We’re excited to be able to bring the Melbourne Virtual Boat & Fishing Show into your home,” Steve Walker, CEO of the Boating Industry Association of Victoria said, “This Virtual event gives you Australia’s best boating and fishing exhibitors, the latest and greatest boating designs, great gear, fantastic prizes and a brilliant line up of stage presenters. It’s a great time to snap up a show only deal and get out on the water, which you’re still able to do.”

The virtual show will feature more than 50 exhibitors and will have virtual booths and, according to organisers, not-to-be-missed show specials. There will also be a virtual stage show with well-known industry experts, some of whom are pictured below.

The event will run from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July, and those who want to check it out online can register to visit as many times as they like over the three days of the show.
