Custom builds, bush repairs, competition rigs and a fishing zone worth making time for. Here’s what we’d put on the list for this year’s Perth 4WD & Adventure Show.
You know how it goes. You head to a 4WD show to look at one thing, get distracted by a rig you definitely don’t have room for, and suddenly it’s lunchtime and you haven’t made it past the accessories.
A little planning helps. The Perth 4WD & Adventure Show runs from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026, from 9am to 5pm daily at McCallum Park, with plenty to see between the gear stands.
Whether you’re chasing ideas for your next build, brushing up on bush repairs or looking for fishing inspiration, here’s where we’d start.
Start with the builds. This year’s displays include the Shed Life K Truck, TJ’s LandCruiser and the Shed Life RAM 2500, giving you three very different takes on a custom adventure vehicle.
If touring setups are your thing, Sunday is the obvious pick. If you’d rather spend your time looking over heavily customised builds, aim for Saturday.
The Adventure Offroad Training Demo Area tackles the questions that crop up once the bitumen ends: how to approach a recovery, when to air down, what your traction systems actually do and which gear you need.
The listed daily program includes recovery techniques at 10am, airing down at 11.30am, remote travel safety at 1pm, traction technology at 2.15pm and a gear session at 3.15pm.
Build a session into your day, particularly if you’re still getting familiar with your vehicle or planning to head further afield.
Learn a few fixes before you need them
A breakdown in the driveway is annoying. A breakdown halfway through a remote trip is a whole different ball game.
The Bush Mechanics Zone, presented by Terrain Tamer 4WD and Custom Lithium, covers practical topics including battery troubleshooting, CV joint fixes, emergency tyre repairs and which spare parts deserve space in your vehicle.
Ronny Dahl and Jamie Hazelden are on the schedule for vehicle repairs and bush remedies, alongside sessions on tyre repairs and 12-volt electrics. It’s worth making time for this one before you spend the entire day shopping for accessories.
Competition-built vehicles will tackle a custom tyre obstacle course, putting their suspension and articulation to work. Between shows, visitors can get closer to the vehicles and chat with the drivers.
The published sessions run 10am-11am, 12.30pm-1.30pm and 3pm-4pm daily.
There’s also a separate 4WD Test Track, with the Ineos Grenadier and Kia Tasman among the vehicles listed to appear.
Mark LeCras is hosting the Fishing Stage, with Birchy the Barra King, Owen Douglas and Scotty Coghlan among the advertised guests sharing fishing stories, tips and experiences.
Catch the touring talks and Malcolm Douglas’ Troopy
The Engel Bush Camp Stage program includes Jase Andrews and Mitch Ward from All 4 Adventure, Graham Cahill from 4WD247, a touring 4WD build talk and a panel on women in four-wheel driving.
Also worth a look is Malcolm Douglas’ restored 2001 Troopy. The restoration involved the Douglas family, the show team and Rust Worx, bringing a familiar piece of Australian adventure history back to life. Owen Douglas is listed for a Troopy rebuild walkaround at 1.30pm.
Leave room for the gear stands
The exhibitor directory lists ARB, TJM, Ironman 4×4, Dometic, GME, iTechworld and plenty more across the accessories, camping and electronics categories.
Bring your questions, your measurements and a realistic idea of what you want to change. Seeing equipment in person is a good opportunity to work out whether it belongs in your setup.
