We’ve said it before and we will say it again. Fitting a quality catch can (or crankcase filter kit) is a smart idea. Especially for anyone that operates a modern common-rail diesel-powered vehicle. For the small outlay in cost, you are going a long way in keeping your engine in tip-top condition by fitting a catch can. This is especially true with new four-wheel drives, as you are preventing buildups of harmful deposits from day one.

Ryco has just updated its range of products, with the introduction of the new RCC360K crankcase filter kit. This is available as a standalone catch can, or in kit form for fitment to most popular makes and models.

What is it?

The RCC360K is Ryco’s universal crankcase filter kit. Being a universal kit, it is supplied with everything you should need to get the job done. This includes the catch can unit itself, male quick connectors, elbow quick connectors, one metre of clear PVC hose and a hose end plug.

There’s also a quick-release universal mounting bracket supplied in the kit. This allows the crankcase filter kit to be mounted exactly where you need it to be in the engine bay.

Why do you need a catch can?

We’ve touched on this topic before, surrounding the benefits of fitting a catch can to your petrol or diesel-powered four-wheel drive. To read more about what catch cans are and what they do, CLICK HERE.

So, what makes this catch can better than the old one?

Ryco tells us they have learnt a thing or two over the years. Their previous RCC350 catch can was introduced in 2018, following up with the popular RCC351 catch can.

The new RCC360 has the same features as the previous generation RCC315, but with a bunch of extra updates.

Starting with a clever service indicator that gives you a visual indicator when the filter needs to be changed. This takes the guess work out of catch can servicing.

Another unique design is the upper outlet position, which has been specifically designed to prevent contamination from returning to the engine. There’s also no external relief valve. What this means, is there is no chance of the unit leaking if the catch can is full or the filter becomes blocked.

Where can you get one?

If you are chasing a Ryco catch can, or any other Ryco parts for your four-wheel drive, it’s simple. All you have to do is CLICK HERE. Pop your postcode into the search bar, and your closest Ryco distributor will show including their contact details.
