2020 MG Extender Pick-Up unlikely to come here…

Iconic British marque, MG, has launched the 2020 MG Extender pick-up into Thailand but at this stage it’s unlikely the large 4×4 could make it to Australia.

The 2020 MG Extender has just gone on-sale in Thailand but it’s unlikely the SAIC Motor-owned company will sell the MG Extender in Australia. That said, it’s already available here as the LDV T60.

The MG Extender gets a beefier-looking grille (compared to the T60) and is available as both a dual-cab or crew cab powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine making 120kW and 375Nm of torque. This is mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission and gets its power to the ground via either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, depending on the variant. A twin-turbo version of this engine is available, but MG doesn’t seem to be offering it at this stage.

In terms of key features, you can get either a cloth or leather interior, 10-inch infotainment system on all but the entry model and the top-spec Grand X model also gets online connectivity for things like service scheduling, voice control and more.

Question: Should MG bring the MG Extender to Australia?
