GOAL ZERO LIGHTHOUSE 250 LANTERN

By Evan Spence 2 Min Read

Do you like seeing things? Hmm… let’s start that sentence again. Isn’t it nice to have a good lighting solution when at camp? Yeah, that’s better! With the constant dangers of evil drop bears, bogey men (or women), vampires, zombies and debt collectors in our day-to-day activities, a little illumination sure goes a long way. The Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 Lantern is a portable camping light (well duh); one that has much more going on for it than just pumping out a few lumens. Firstly, it is directional and allows for both 180° or 360° of illumination depending on your needs. There are three brightness modes (low, high and turbo) as well as a red flashing alert mode. Goal Zero claims you can run it for up to 48 hours on a single charge, and replenish it via solar or USB in around seven hours. If that isn’t possible because your Hybrid car is charging, there is a simple built-in crank mechanism which Goal Zero says provides 10 minutes of light for every one minute of cranking you put in. There is even a USB output point. So you can charge your devices while huddling around the lantern, wondering if that is a drop bear in the trees… or just a possum.
