Jeep Australia has confirmed its new expanded MY21 Wrangler line-up that is available to order now and will arrive in dealerships from January 2021.

Headlining the new MY21 Wrangler line-up is the reintroduction of the entry-level two-door Sport S variant which will start at $51,950 plus on-road costs. Far from being a cut-price special, Jeep says the Wrangler Sport S will come standard with LED lights, remote proximity keyless entry, a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, automatic headlights, push-button start, seven-inch multi-information display and dual-zone climate control air conditioning.

Safety kit on the Sport S includes Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Path Detection. An optional ‘Off-Road Group’ package adds an LSD, 17-inch Tech Silver Aluminium wheels and all-weather floor mats, while a ‘Comfort and Sound Group’ package adds a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen with sat-nav, nine-speaker Alpine sound system with subwoofer, tinted windows, hard-top headliner, alarm and remote start.

Also joining the Wrangler line-up in 2021 is the Wrangler Unlimited Night Eagle model, which features darkened exterior and interior accents, (fog lamp bezels, grille surrounds, headlamp inserts and badging), 17-inch five spoke black alloy wheels, and the ‘Comfort and Sound Group’ package as standard.

The Wrangler Unlimited Overland will be available with an optional Sky One-Touch Powertop, which is a fully-automatic sliding roof system that allows the full-length canvas roof to be opened at the push of a button at speeds up to 96km/h. This model also comes with leather seat trim, heated front seats, body-coloured fender flares, body-coloured three piece Freedom Hard Top, chrome accents, 18-inch alloys and a 230V power outlet.

The MY21 Wrangler Rubicon (we last tested the 2019 model) will get Off-Road+ Mode which, when engaged in low-range 4×4, enacts Rock Mode, whilst in high-range 4×4 it enacts Sand Mode. The idea is it takes “much of the guesswork out of 4×4 driving, the calibrations sense your throttle position and your shift point, utilising all electronic stability control parameters to deliver the right amount of feedback at the accelerator pedal and the right amount of torque at the wheels for those road surfaces”. A Trail-Ready Package with Forward Facing TrailCam will be offered as an option on Rubicon.
