It’s coming up to Easter once again… and while eggs and hunts can start to get a little old, the batch of Easter Jeep Safari concepts in Moab seems to never get stale.
There are some pretty cool and adventurous concepts out there, but one is definitely the coolest: Jeep Wagoneer Roadtrip. It’s important to remember that Jeep’s heritage is deeper than just military service and soft-top Wranglers. The company also built things like this Wagoneer, which beat Range Rover to the punch as a plush 4WD family wagon.
This unit uses an original body, but it gets some nice subtle barwork and modern coil-over suspension for the 33-inch rubber. And in place of the old straight-six, there’s a 5.7-litre V8. It’s an awesome reminder of the kind of vehicles Jeep used to build.
It’s a timely concept, because Jeep is going to revive the Wagoneer nameplate soon and take on the full-sized, seven-seater market with its own new model. Look out LandCruiser, look out Land Rover: Jeep has serious cred in this segment; and now has the backing of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to make something special.
