The updated 2020 Mitsubishi Triton sees mid-spec models improved with Easy Select 4WD and rear diff lock available on more models.
The updated 2020 Mitsubishi Triton has been detailed boasting improvements to mid-spec models.
Previously only available on top-spec GLS Premium, a rear differential lock is now available on GLX+, GLS and GLS Premium variants. And GLX+ now gets Mitsubishi’s Easy Select 4WD dial-based selector to switch from 2WD to 4WD. Both GLS and GLS Premium run Mitsubishi’s Super Select II system which allows the Triton to be run in 4WD on high-traction surfaces. Mitsubishi said that all 4WD Triton models with 18-inch alloys now offer 220mm of ground clearance.
Speaking about the changes, Mitsubishi Motors Deputy Director for Marketing and Operation, Derek McIlroy said: “We’re making changes to our functionality to be able to deliver Australian customers what they’re looking for. Australia is a key market for Triton development, and we’re consistently listening to ute buyers and looking for new ways to add the features they want to our line-up.”
In addition to the above new features, GLX+ adds a roof-mounted air circulator to send air from the front of the vehicle into the back. And the GLS now gets a keyless operation system, with smart key and one-touch start.
“The decision to extend these features beyond the GLS Premium was made in response to customer feedback; they have been very popular,” said Owen Thomson, senior manager for product strategy.
