Inverter generators produce power in a more consistent fashion when compared to traditional generators. They produce power by taking DC power and converting into Pure Sine wave 240 Volt AC. Which is why they’re ideal for more sensitive devices like a laptop for those who consider themselves digital nomads.
Enter the Yamaha EF2200iS and Yamaha EF2400iS
Two generators in the Yamaha range have become our favourites for caravans, including the Yamaha EF2200iS and Yamaha EF2400iS. They both feature Twin Tech™ parallel technology. The TwinTech kit is available separately and allows you to connect two of the same generators. This results in almost double the power output for your caravan!
Yamaha EF2200iS Generator
The Yamaha EF2200iS has a 4.7L fuel capacity that allows 10 hours of run time when you’ve got eco-mode on. With a range of power outlets, you can charge all you need to keep you going. What sets it apart from other brands is you’re not limited to specific USB outlets. Instead, there’s a versatile 12v 3a DC outlet in the USB outlet’s place. This inverter generator allows you to bring all the power on your adventure, with only a small amount of space being taken up. Thanks to its compact size and its portability, you can maximise the space inside your vehicle or caravan on your next trip. Yamaha EF2400iS Generator
The Yamaha EF2400iS is ideal for any weekend warrior who needs to power themselves on their off-road journey. If you’re travelling somewhere you expect to be packing some serious Aussie heat, the Yamaha EF2400iS can produce a massive 2400 watts of maximum power which means it will be your best mate in running the air con. The Australian summer will be a breeze with this one in tow.
Speaking of having it in tow, while still definitely portable, the Yamaha EF2400iS is only 7kg heavier than the Yamaha EF2200iS. It’s worth the weight though, as when fuelled up it will run your power through the night or last the better part of your day.

Everyone has individual needs when it comes to powering their devices on the road. Yamaha has kept this in mind, so for those seeking more power than what the EF2200iS or EF2400iS generators provide, you’re still in luck.
