It’s been spied, it’s been leaked, it’s been video-ed. We already know a fair bit about the new Jimny, but thanks to CarAdvice.com.au we can now say it’s going to land in Australia late 2018.
The design has us very excited – sporting all of those things that make the little Suzuki such a special 4WD: Small, lightweight and with precious little overhang. It also looks like it’s taking on quite a retro-inspired and funky design.
But most importantly, it’s still going to have a proper little 4WD system – as well as low-range gearing and what looks like a solid front axle mounted onto a ladder chassis.
Suzuki Australia Managing Director Michael Pachota told the media that they’ve put in a request to have the new Jimny in Australia by late 2018. And it makes sense, really. This is a country where the Suzuki 4WD carved out a reputation for great off-road capability from sales to cockies, fishos and 4WDers alike. I’m excited to see it again soon.
