2020 Troller TX4 Revealed…but only for South America

By Isaac Bober 2 Min Read

The 2020 Troller TX4 is one of those 4X4s we wish we got here in Australia…it’s got factory-fit steel front and rear bumpers, mud terrains, LED driving lights, snorkel and more.

The Troller is an icon of the Brazillian automotive landscape. The business was bought by Ford in 2007 and, fortunately, hasn’t messed with the idea the thing should be rugged and capable right out of the box.

There are now two models in the lineup, the original T4 and this new 2020 Troller TX4 which gets a six-speed automatic transmission (borrowed from the Ford Ranger – the T4 gets a manual transmission only) and share the Ranger’s 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel engine making 147kW and 400Nm of torque. It gets a rear locking diff as standard, steel front and rear bumpers, Pirelli Scorpion MTR 245/70 R17 tyres, waterproof Hella driving lights, and more. The TX4 also offers a dual-pane glass roof, dual-zone climate control, electric windows and mirrors, alarm and a blank panel ready for installing off-road navigation devices.

“We listened to customers, who had long been asking for the automatic transmission option, and we added other functionality and style equipment to create the TX4. It is a radical and unique off-road, made to expand the range of consumers of the brand,” said Demétrio Fleck, Marketing, Sales and Services manager at Troller.

“The premise for the engineering development of the TX4’s automatic transmission was to maintain the essence of the car’s robustness and off-road capability, adding comfort and convenience,” added Fleck. “And that challenge was met, with a result that will exceed the expectations of the Trolleys.”
