Honda Australia has revealed a limited-edition CRF450RX celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of Australia’s most iconic off-road events. Yep, you guessed it, the Finke Desert Race.
Based on the 2025 CRF450RX, the new CRF450RX Finke Limited Edition takes inspiration from the 2026 race, where David Walsh and the Honda Factory Racing Team claimed victory.
And just in case you’re wondering… this isn’t simply a sticker pack.
What does the Finke Limited Edition get?
Finished in Extreme Red, the CRF450RX Finke Limited Edition comes fitted with more than $3,500 worth of endurance racing-inspired accessories.
These include:
- HGS stainless steel exhaust system
- IMS 12-litre fuel tank
- Finke 50th Anniversary SKDA graphics kit (okay, so there is a sticker pack)
- Matching seat cover
The larger IMS tank is a win, bumping capacity from 8 litres of fuel in the regular model to 12 litres in the Finke Limited Edition.
Underneath the Finke-specific additions is the 2025 CRF450RX, powered by Honda’s 449cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine and running a five-speed transmission.
Celebrating 50 years of Finke
The 2026 Tatts Finke Desert Race marked the event’s 50th year of competition, with Honda enjoying a long and successful history at the legendary desert race.
Across those 50 events, Honda has claimed 21 victories in the bike category.
“The Finke Desert Race has been an important part of Honda’s off-road racing story here in Australia for decades, and this special edition model celebrates that connection,” said Chris Schultz, General Manager, Powersports and Products at Honda Australia.
“The CRF450RX Finke Limited Edition pays tribute to one of Australia’s most iconic motorsport events, and we’re excited to offer riders the opportunity to own a unique piece of Honda’s racing history.”
How much does the CRF450RX Finke Limited Edition cost?
The Honda CRF450RX Finke Limited Edition is priced from $16,399 RRP, which is around $1500 more than the standard model. According to Honda, these limited-edition extras cost an additional $3,500, so I guess if you’re looking for a reason to justify the spend, there’s your hook, line, and sinker.
Honda hasn’t revealed exactly how many bikes will be produced, only confirming that it will be a limited production run.
