First look at Front Runner’s latest canopy rack – designed for tradies and four-wheel drivers

Front Runner, has just announced the release of a new product, that sort of took inspiration from one of their most popular products. Their mighty range of roof racks. While the Slimline II roof rack system from Front Runner has been around for years and is popular with four-wheel drivers, Front Runner wanted to offer a unique and more fit-for-purpose storage solution for those lucky enough to own a ute with an alloy canopy on the back.
The Slimpro Canopy Rack is said to be light, strong, practical yet most importantly ultra-low profile. This means you’ll have a lower centre of gravity, as well as a better chance of making it through the Maccas drive-through in your ute.
These racks are modular, meaning you can change the layout to suit your needs, and will fit on a wide range of alloy canopies. This means you won’t need to run a larger roof platform on your canopy, as the Slimpro Canopy Rack has literally been designed to handle canopy mounting duties. Another important point to mention, is the Slimpro Canopy Rack is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Nice to see!
Key features for these racks, other than being specifically made for alloy canopies, are the adaptable slat configuration. As well as side access T-slots. This makes it much simpler to add or change accessories when required. Variable high and low-profile slat configuration is another important point to mention.
This offers many different load-carrying options for on-or-off-the-road use. Being an alloy construction, Front Runner tells us this rack system is on average 30% lighter than a steel equivalent. That’s a win for modern four-wheel drivers and tradies, who need to carry tools or camping gear.
There are five different sizes of the Slimpro Canopy Rack available to suit your vehicle or particular application.
These sizes are:
