Just because the JB74 Suzuki Jimny is small, doesn’t mean it isn’t tough. This is why Hayman Reese decided to produce what they say is the strongest towbar on the market, for the pint-sized off-roader. The Hayman Reese X-Bar.
What’s the story?
One of the key features of the X-Bar range, is the way Hayman Reese engineers have positioned the towbar. They set out with each vehicle, not just the Jimny, to maximise the departure angle once fitted.
Facts and figures
This towbar for the JB74 Suzuki Jimny, is rated to tow a maximum figure of 1300kg. That figure naturally would require the use of trailer brakes. There’s also a ball weight rating of 75kg.
In the kit, you’ll also receive a single protected trailer socket mount point, SmartPin hitch pin, a premium eCoat and powder-coat finish as well as rated D-shackles. Fitting will require the factory bumper bar to be cut in places, but as you can see from the images – it’s a neat fit.
Recovery points
Yep, just like X-Bars to suit larger 4x4s, the Jimny has been looked after with recovery points. There is one on either side of the tow hitch. Each recovery point is rated at 2500kg. So when used together in combination with a bridle strap, they are rated to 5000kg.
Tell ’em the price
For the complete towbar package, not including fitting, you’re looking at spending $1035. That’s very reasonable, in my opinion, considering you get recovery points too.
