Sometimes you have to look to the good old US of A to find innovative and exciting products, and the Gator Jaw from Bubba Rope is certainly exciting from a safety point of view. The Gator Jaw is a shackle made from Plasma rope, which the manufacturers claim is the strongest synthetic rope available. So strong in fact, the team at Bubba Rope say the Gator Jaw is rated to 32,00lbs (or roughly 15,000kg). By using a shackle made from rope, you are removing a very heavy and potentially lethal steel shackle from your recovery chain. A good thing! Using the Gator Jaw is simple too; it takes even less time to use than a bow shackle. As another side benefit, the Gator Jaws float – so you won’t lose them in mud holes; and they’re flexible, unlike bow shackles.
