In this sport, protecting your balls means everything for longevity. Yep, the swivel balls on the front of a live-axle four-wheel drive can cop an absolute beating from mud, sand and stones. This can cause pitting of the swivel housing and ultimately lead to leaking seals and damage to king pin bearings. Nobody has time for that! The Split CV Boot from Gearing Dynamics is claimed to fix all these issues, by shielding and covering the exposed housing with a layer of protective rubber. Installation is a simple bolt-on affair, according to Gearing Dynamics – which should save you a few more dollarydoos by not having to pay for an expensive installation. Currently Gearing Dynamics offers the Split CV Boot to suit Toyota LandCruisers in 78/79/80/105 Series models, as well as the V8 70 Series range.

Steering knuckle grease leak and your CV boot kit
I have a 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser and I recently had the front axles gone thru. New gears, bearings all seals and new birfields. The left side steering knuckle leaks some grease. The grease leaking is only grease with no oil mixed with it. I like the idea of your split CV boots. I am reluctant to take the steering knuckle apart again and attempt to replace the rubber seal and the felt dust seal. Will your CV boot contain the grease if I continue to regularly grease the steering knuckle?
I have a 4JG2 Holden Jackeroo 1997 model, and have just found I have a split CV boot, I’m not a mechanic but do my own servicing so I feel I could tackle them…so….do you make a split boot for my Jack or have a universal one I can use ?
