The Isuzu MU-X Onyx Edition from Isuzu Ute Australia is a new offering based on the top-spec LS-T variant but with unique aesthetic enhancements and the inclusion of new features such as sat-nav, DAB+ digital radio, Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
Currently limited to just 420 examples, the seven-seat Isuzu MU-X Onyx is available in Obsidian Grey Mica or Silky White Pearl and is priced at $56,990 drive-away.
Instead of chrome, the MU-X Onyx scores shadow-chrome treatments across the tailgate and the horizontal front grille, as well as gloss black elements up front and an “aggressively-styled” lower front chin spoiler, while the wing mirrors are body-coloured. In addition, the Bi-LED headlights now feature a dusk sensor.
Inside the MU-X Onyx you’ll find quilted-leather accented trim and a high-definition 6.8-inch infotainment screen.
“Since its debut back in December 2013, the Isuzu MU-X has found favour with Australian families, tourers and adventure seekers, continuously evolving with updates to its performance, comfort and off-road ability, which has cemented its place atop of the sales charts as the ‘best-selling Ute-based SUV’ for the last six years,” Isuzu Ute Australia Managing Director, Hiroyasu Sato said. “For 2020, we’ve taken it a step further with bold and impactful exterior enhancements and the latest in smartphone connectivity, to make the MU-X Onyx Edition the most desirable MU-X to date.”
As it’s based on the seven-seat LS-T, other standard features on the Isuzu MU-X Onyx Edition include six-way electric driver’s seat, keyless entry and start, roof-mounted 10-inch DVD screen, eight-speaker audio, air-conditioning vents in all three rows, three 12-volt power outlets and three 5-volt USB ports.
As with all models in the Isuzu Ute Australia line-up, including the all-new D-MAX, the MU-X Onyx is covered by a six year/150,000km warranty, with up to seven years roadside assist when serviced through IUA dealers, and seven years capped-price servicing.
