There has been a furore in the 4X4 community over MA-classified 4WDs lately; owners didn’t originally know that their vehicle didn’t come with ‘off-road’ MC classification… therefore having more restrictive modification limits and potentially big insurance implications. In response, Haval has re-certified its H9 as a proper MC categorisation, and Ford has similarly re-jigged its 4X4 Everest. Each State and Territory is slowly being won over for re-certifying existing MA-classed 4X4s as MC-based, as well. Who’s left now? Only Jeep, namely with its Grand Cherokee and Renegade models still MA-classified.
