The latest award-winning Oztent swags and more

Three new Oztent swags are about to hit the market and as a self-confessed swag fan, I can’t wait to get my hands on them to try them out. Particularly the DS-2 Pitch Black Double-Dome Swag, which was recently awarded the GOLD Good Design Award for design and innovation.

Introducing the Oztent DS-1 Pitch Black Single Dome and Oztent DS-2 Pitch Black Double Dome Swags

Both the new DS-1 Pitch Black Single-Dome and the DS-2 Pitch Black Double-Dome swags use Oztent’s patented Pitch Black Tech™. This feature apparently keeps 95% of sunlight out of the swag. Hellooooo good nights sleep!

So, if you’re a shift worker, had an exciting night and stayed up too late, or like me, just want your kids to sleep an extra hour or two so you don’t have to get up, this could be a game-changer.

Both are constructed of Ripstop canvas, with heavy-duty PVC tub flooring and internal seam-sealed double stitching. This makes them UV 50+ rated and waterproof. When the weather is dry, a no-see mesh screen allows you to take in the night sky minus the mosquitos.

Both swags appear to be big on comfort with 50mm mattresses included. As the name implies, the Oztent DS-2 Pitch Black Double Dome Swag has plenty of room for two. (Yeah baby!)

Other handy features include large awnings and vestibules for shade and protection, and both side and top access. A power cord inlet, light loops and multi-storage pockets are also a bonus.

Introducing the Oztent Ultra-Light Single Swag

Now, this new ultra-light option excites me as well. It’s designed for 2-wheeled adventures and my old Virago 1100 needs the cobwebs blown out of the carby.

Sitting almost at the other end of the spectrum, the Oztent ULS-1 Ultra-Light Single Swag is designed to provide smart, durable, light-weight shelter for those wanting to explore beyond the roughest of tracks. To be honest, I’m probably not going to go anywhere too rough on my Virago. However, the lightweight nature of this baby is certainly appealing.

Weighing only 2.7kg and packing down to a 15cm x 43cm roll, this Oztent Ultra-Light swag features Ripstop canvas, PVC tub floor, heat-sealed seaming and no-see for 100% waterproofing, durability, ventilation and sublime views of the night sky. There is even a vestibule area to protect your gear.

Introducing three new Oztent Pro Travel Bags

Also rolling into stores shortly are three new Oztent Pro Travel Bags. The two larger bags, the Oztent 264L and the Oztent 216L are constructed of heavy-duty heat-welded PVC. The old tried and tested roll and clip lock is featured to ensure everything is kept 100% dry.

Of course, you can use these bags for whatever you want but the Oztent DS-1 Single Dome Swag fits into the 216L Pro Travel Bag perfectly. Likewise, the Oztent DS-2 Double Dome Swag fits perfectly into the 264L perfectly. Funny that!

The Ultra-Light Single Swag won’t be left out because there is a new Oztent 48L Pro Travel Bag that it fits into. Tying in with the travelling lighter and smaller theme, the 48L is made with a slightly lighter fabrication. Don’t worry, it still delivers 100% waterproof protection. Actually, a bonus of this bag is that unlike the other two, this one will also fit a lightweight mattress and sleeping bag.

Shut up and take my money – How can I get one?

All of the new Oztent swags and Pro Travel Bags will be available exclusively through Anaconda stores initially, and other reputable outdoor retailers will get a look in from March 2022. Although I can’t find them on the Anaconda site just yet, they are available as a pre-order on the Oztent website at the links below:
