DAN’S TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 60 SERIES

Dan has owned this 60 Series for a couple of years now, and has wasted no time hooking into the mods. The front factory leaf springs were ditched early on in the piece, in favour of King coil-over shocks with 80 Series LandCruiser radius arms. Now that the bugs are nearly ironed out suspension wise, the factory 3F petrol engine is receiving attention… well, is being ripped out and replaced with a diesel 1HZ from an 80 Series wreck. This should net Dan better fuel economy for long-distance touring and weekend trips. Why not just buy an 80 Series to begin with? Where is the fun in that!

GRAHAM’S NISSAN PATHFINDER

Graham bought his Pathfinder brand new in 2010, and according to the man himself, he had it out on the tracks the very first weekend of ownership. So far, he has driven most of South Australia including the Border Track, Beachport, Flinders Ranges and both Peninsulas. Tassie is next on the bucket list, and Graham has been modifying the truck on a need to basis rather than bolting on everything that opens and shuts. The reason for this? Well, according to Graham, the Pathfinder goes where everyone else does, and is yet to get stuck or let him down. You really can’t argue with logic like that!

TERRY’S FORD RANGER

Terry’s Ford Ranger (known as Ranga for obvious reasons) is not only one of the neater current model Ford Rangers out on the tracks, it is also one of the most well used. Terry has gone to town building the Ford for the tracks around Victoria and further afield. Ranga has a never ending list of mods, starting with a three-inch suspension lift, a full arsenal of protective barwork and let’s not forget the huge alloy touring canopy on the back. A three-inch exhaust helps vocalise the 3.2l turbo-diesel engine, which is also protected underneath with some beefy bash plates. A set of 33in tyres gets traction to the ground via the factory rear diff lock, and if all else fails there is always the winch. What a cool truck, Terry!

EDDIE’S JEEP WRANGLER TJ

Eddie is no stranger to four-wheel drives or four-wheel driving. In fact, his previous HiLux is one of the most revered builds in Aussie history. Well, maybe we shouldn’t go that far, but any man who puts a petrol powered, turbocharged engine into an old Lux is a man we would like know. These days, Eddie is driving a Jeep Wrangler TJ and apparently has no reason to look back. Eddie’s TJ shows that you can still get out there no matter how big or small your truck is, as he is regularly seen blasting around the tracks of his native Victoria, with his wife Ally and pup Utah crammed in for the ride as well.
