RAM Trucks Australia had yet another record-breaking month in November for their production and retail sales. These workhorses are having their time in the spotlight with a mammoth 900 full-size pick-up trucks produced at the local facility and 710 delivered to customers in November.

“The acceptance of full-size pick-up trucks by Australians is just phenomenal”

These strong results have exceeded even Bob Graczyk’s, Head of RAM International, expectations. He recently visited the newly expanded production facility in Melbourne and stated that 7 years ago it was anyone’s guess how the Australian market would react to RAMs. “No-one really knew what to expect, maybe 3,000, 4,000 – perhaps 5,000 units,” Bob said “It has completely exceeded our expectations and 10,000 vehicles is now realistic – who knows, we could go up to 15 or 20,000 units. The acceptance of full-size pick-up trucks by Australians is just phenomenal.”

Dominating sales

This year, RAM Trucks sales put the hardworking truck ahead of Hino and Land Rover. Its November figures have even placed it ahead of Jeep this month. It seems we’re seeing more and more of these full-size pick-up trucks both on Aussie roads and in Australian driveways. The National Manager of RAM Trucks Australia, Jeff Barber, expects things to continue in this upward trend. “With what’s coming down the line over the next few months and years, the future is certainly very bright for RAM Trucks in Australia,” Jeff said.

RAM Trucks Australia

Now the biggest vehicle manufacturer in the country

641 employees make up RAM Trucks Australia, which places them as the biggest vehicle manufacturer in the nation. The trucks arrive in Australia as left-hand drive (LHD) vehicles and are then manufactured to right-hand drive (RHD) at the Melbourne Manufacturing Facility.

Aussies are choosing RAM

The RAM 1500 TRX®, will set you back an exxy $199,950 before on-road costs. This makes it around $50,000 more than the next most expensive Ram 1500. When you consider the price tag attached to these American-style pick-up trucks, it makes this sales achievement even more impressive. Australians are choosing RAM over other brands even with the hefty price tag attached.

With RAM outselling both smaller and cheaper 4X4 models for the month, we’re keeping a close eye on figures to see just what the vehicle market is going to look like in the coming year. Will RAM continue to dominate? Looks like I’ll be feeling even smaller on the road next to these pick-up trucks in the coming months ahead.
