The Oztent RV5 Plus wins an international Red Dot award

The Oztent RV5 Plus is just like the original RV5 30-second tent but with some awesome upgrades. In fact, it’s so great the RV5 Plus has been awarded a Red Dot Design Award.

No, the Red Dot is not something you get from rubbing up against noxious plants in the wild. Rather, it’s a major international award from Germany for products of the highest design quality. Out of 7,900 entries from over 60 countries, the Oztent RV5 Plus was the only product in the Oceania region to be awarded the prestigious Red Dot in the Outdoor and Camping Equipment category.

“As a business, we constantly think about how we can create awesome outcomes for campers everywhere”, explains Oztent Group CEO Luke Eather. “We have found that such solutions are achieved through both innovation and by further refining and improving what was already an exceptional offering. It is rewarding to see such an esteemed panel of experts endorse this approach and award us this Red Dot Award.”

The judges were wowed by the speed, ease of use and reliability of the tent. It’s a huge bonus when camping is simple, fast and comfortable each and every time, even in less than ideal weather.

It wasn’t just the tent that made an impression on the judges though, it was the complete package. The Oztent RV5 Plus features reflective guy ropes, covered power inlets, light loops, a fly and a large attached peaked awning that extends shade well beyond the base of the tent.

Key features of the upgraded Oztent RV5 Plus include:

  • Unique 30-second frame
  • Comfortably sleeps five people
  • High quality, heavy-duty polycotton canvas
  • PVC tub floor
  • Skymesh skylight built into the roof
  • 100 per cent waterproof and UV50+ protected
  • Large attached awning
  • Ability to add other Oztent products or connect to tent and vehicle awnings

Although I haven’t got my hands on this upgraded version yet to try it out, I have tried out the original Oztent RV5 and absolutely love it for its quick set-up and spaciousness. As a five-person tent, we can easily fit a family of four in there with plenty of room to spare. I look forward to getting my hands on one of these to test it out!
