Who remembers the Suzuki Carry 4X4? This rare example of the breed is for sale…
Here’s a Throwback Thursday for those dreaming of Thai holidays long gone. A lick of red paint, a rear canopy, a few lights and killer sound system fitted to this Suzuki Carry 4X4 will have you thinking you’re in the back of a Tuk Tuk fighting the traffic along Patong Beach. “Same, same… but different!”
We spotted the Suzuki Carry 4X4 on Facebook Marketplace, and with a price-tag of $9500 we reckon it could be a pretty good deal. After all, there can’t be many of these pint-size 4X4 cab-chassis mini-beasts left on the road. And other than a few body blemishes, it looks to be in pretty decent nick.
The 1987 Zook features a four-speed manual gearbox and has just 24,000km showing on the odo. The speedo is marked to a rather optimistic 100km/h, but the vendor reckons she’s good for a more realistic 90km/h.
With NSW rego to November, this baby is ready to hit the road. If you didn’t want to go the Tuk Tuk route, you could drop a small camper on the tray, fit bigger wheels and tyres and try your luck on the tracks. Or better still, try out the load-carrying capacity with a pallet of Singha or Chang beer. Uh oh… I’m dreaming of Thai swim-up pool bars now.
Anyway, the vendor says he’s not in a rush to sell the Suzuki Carry 4X4, so you might have trouble getting him to budge on price, but if you’re keen here’s the link.
