So you might have seen the Darche Eclipse 270 Awning already, but this was the first time we’d seen one completely set up in the flesh. And wow! Not only is the quality of construction first-class (as you’d expect), the awning provides a simply massive amount of shade considering it wraps around your vehicle. If you have a roof top tent that opens out to the side, you will have even more shelter available. Once you connect the optional walls to the awning, well… it looks more like a stadium than an awning. Darche claims, with the walls in place, there is actually 20.5m squared of shelter – all of which is supported by adjustable telescopic poles. There is literally enough room for the whole family, and best of all it’s simple and easy to set up and pack down with just one person. It is a bit on the heavy side, coming in at 27.5kg… but considering the advantages, this could be the last awning you ever need.
