Snorkels are an essential piece off off-road kit for many, as they keep sand, dust and water from getting into your engine. Whether you’re just looking to get cleaner cooler air into your engine, to improve fuel efficiency and performance, or making sure your engine is getting air when it’s under water during your next deep water crossing, a quality snorkel is a great addition to any 4X4.

We do not suggest trying the DIY approach that you see below. While some of these examples might look quite good, they might not function the same. There is a lot of engineering that goes into making a quality snorkel. A poorly engineered snorkel can cause excessive induction noise, a lack of separation of water and dust from the fresh air and limit airflow to the engine. All of these things can reduce fuel efficiency, engine performance and can cause engine damage over time. If you decide to install a snorkel, it is essential to get one that fits your specific vehicle properly, which is key to long-term engine longevity.

There are a number of different snorkel styles to choose from for most 4X4 vehicle models. Be sure to choose the style that best fits the environments you regularly expose your 4×4 too, and of course, one that looks good and conforms to the body lines of your vehicle. Trust one of the many quality snorkel manufactures to sort out your 4X4 vehicle properly.
