After watching with excitement (and I’m not ashamed to admit, jealousy) a number of Can-Ams tear around Sand Mountain in Nevada, USA earlier this year, I was pleased to discover that Can-Am has done it again, cranking up the excitement for 2025 with the Maverick R MAX X rs SAS. If you’ve loved the Maverick-R so far, this new four-seater rig’s all about sharing next-level thrills with your whole family.

Julie Tourville, Director of Global Marketing for Can-Am Off-Road, sums it up best: “At its core, Can-Am is a brand that is all about pushing the envelope and creating the ultimate experience for every type of rider, from ranchers to outdoor enthusiasts and racers. We are continuing to blaze the trail in the SSV category with the introduction of the Maverick R MAX.”

The Maverick R made some serious waves last year, boasting a 240-horsepower Rotax engine, DCT gearbox, and top-tier suspension that had everyone talking. Now, Can-Am’s adding room for more—and that means more laughs, more mud, and more epic moments out on the trail.

The Maverick R MAX is designed with rider comfort in mind, especially for those lucky enough to be in the back seats, which are some of the roomiest you’ll find in the segment. The engineers haven’t just added space; they’ve tuned the seven-speed DCT for multi-passenger rides with a 40% shorter low-gear ratio and better torque control for those tricky, slow-speed bits. They’ve beefed up the components too, making sure this thing can take a proper beating.

And let’s not forget the tech: some Maverick R MAX packages now come with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen, GPS, front and rear cameras, and easy-to-read transmission and drive mode info. Perfect for keeping you on track, whether you’re navigating dunes or just heading back to camp after a full-on day.
