Ford’s Ranger continues to build its small lead against the HiLux as Australia’s best-selling 4X4, with another month of chart-topping sales. 2,627 4X4 Rangers found a new home in Australia, taking the total to 21,190. Comparatively, the HiLux has nabbed 19,942 new buyers. That massive gap to third place is still there, with 11,642 Tritons outpacing a resurgent Colorado with 10,708 sales. Ute sales continue to trickle down with Navara (8,098, down 47.5%), D-Max (6,981) and BT-50 (5,453). Amarok has posted a strong month to overtake the LandCruiser ute, with 4,890 and 4,814 respectively.
Toyota’s LandCruiser Prado and 200 Series continue to dominate 4X4 wagon land, with 9,874 and 7,492 sales apiece. Isuzu’s MU-X (4,397) overtakes Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (4,210), followed by Everest (2,576), Trailblazer 1,839 and Fortuner (1,471). So far this year, Toyota has managed to sell 7,178 2WD HiLux utes, which makes the HiLux Australia’s top-selling model when combined with 4X4 sales.
