Made with strong yet lightweight aluminium, with fiberglass reinforced nylon corners, it too promises corrosion resistance and has been tested in the harshest conditions to give you an all-round reliable load carrying solution for your transport. The vehicle-specific clamping mechanism allows you to trust that the Backbone will be secured to your roof gutter, which is one of the most reassuring things for me when I’m trailing through the unknown on my way through to my destination.

There’s no point heading off with all the gear and no idea, so make sure you consider the capacity of your racks and vehicle roof as one of your final steps. Not only is it unsafe to overload a vehicle, it’s illegal. Rhino-Rack has a convenient, easy-to-use load rating calculator so you can work out your on-road, static, and off-road ratings. Before you start, make a note of your vehicle’s load rating from your vehicle’s owner’s manual, as well as the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack system you have installed.
