Project D-Max is done, and we couldn’t be happier with how it has turned out. It’s a real treat to see it out of the workshop and out on the tracks. To really see what it’s made of, we decided to have a bit of an adventure with a mate who owns an incredibly modified 79 Series LandCruiser.
Can Project D-Max keep up on the tracks? And is it the more comfortable vehicle getting to and from the location?
What’s the go with Project D-Max?
If you are new around here, there’s a complete build series of Project D-Max, as well as a walkaround video going into full detail of what we have done to the vehicle. You can check that out by CLICKING HERE.
What’s the go with that 79 Series?
This thing is wild. Seriously, the only thing left untouched is the windscreen on this monster. It’s rolling on 37-inch tyres, has a Superior Engineering rear coil conversion, and it’s safe to say the engine isn’t stock either. This is definitely an unfair comparison, but in the interest of science, we took one for the team and headed out to Lithgow to see how each very different vehicle would perform. The results were quite surprising I must say.
Don’t tell me, show me
Instead of writing up a piece, here’s a video we produced comparing the D-Max to the 79 Series LandCruiser. Talk about a great day in the office…
