The Ram 1500 Express Crew Cab is on-sale now from $89,950+ORCs and will sit between the 1500 Express Quad Cab and 1500 Laramie Crew Cab to fill out the range.
With the growing popularity of American pickups in Australia, especially Ram which has seen sales growing steadily. To that end, a new mid-spec variant, for want of a better description, the Ram 1500 Express Crew Cab has been added to the line-up. The Express Crew Cab fills the $20,000 gap between the $79,950 Express Quad Cab and $99,950 Laramie Crew Cab.
The differences between the base model 1500 Express Quad Cab and the new Express Crew Cab are the larger cabin (same as the Laramie). The Express Crew also gets an 8.4-inch touchscreen, which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as dual-zone air-conditioning. The 5-foot 7-inch tub can easily fit a pallet between the wheel arches and comes standard with a bed-liner, it can also be optioned with a RamBox to provide additional space. It has an 830kg payload along with a 121L fuel tank.
The 1500 Express Crew Cab runs a 5.7-litre V8 Hemi which makes 291kW and 556Nm, and boasts a maximum braked towing capacity of 4500kg. The 1500 Express Crew Cab also comes with active grille shutters, which can block the front airflow openings. This is claimed to reduce drag while maintaining optimal engine temperatures and improving fuel efficiency. Ram Trucks Australia offers a three-year/100,000km warranty with roadside assistance and a service schedule of 12 months or 12,000kms.
