The Volkswagen Amarok V6 Manual won’t launch until next month but the VW website is already carrying an offer for the ‘special’ Amarok V6 Core Enduro variant.

The Volkswagen Amarok V6 Manual will launch in Australia next month but Volkswagen is trying to drum up some early business. The German car maker has listed, under ‘offers’, the special edition Amarok V6 Core Enduro with a driveaway price of $48,990 based on this writer’s address (Blue Mountains, NSW). The offer ends on 31 January 2020.

The Amarok V6 manual Enduro mirrors the same pack the brand offers on automatic models, and includes black sports bar and black decals down the side of the vehicle, and a black bonnet protector. The Enduro pack is worth $1200. Specifications for the Amarok V6 manual Enduro mirror that of the automatic-equipped variant although there are slight differences where specifications are concerned. For instance, the maximum braked towing capacity has been reduced from 3500kg to 3000kg although payload is improved to 1004kg compared to the 990kf of the automatic variant.

Beyond that, the manual and automatic variants, specification-wise, are pretty much spot on with each other, meaning you get the same 17-inch ‘Posadas’ alloys and Apple and Android Auto connectivity, climate control and more.

Under the bonnet is the same 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel making 160kW (180kW on overboost) and 500Nm of torque; not the full-house 185kW and 580Nm of torque you get in the top-spec automatic Amaroks. Unlike the automatic variants with their single-range all-wheel drive (with low first-gear crawler), the manual-variants will be part-time 4WD with low-range.
