GME has unveiled the next generation of its XRS Connect UHF radio platform, introducing two new models aimed at 4WDers, tourers and anyone who needs to communicate when travelling off the beaten track.
The updated GME XRS Connect UHF radio range builds on GME’s existing reputation in the two-way radio space, adding a bunch of new tech designed to make the radios smarter, more adaptable and easier to use in modern touring setups.
According to GME, the new radios combine Aussie manufacturing, extensive field testing, and real-world user feedback to deliver a range that has set a new global standard for two-way radios.
GME describes the latest XRS Connect platform as a new era for UHF CB communication.
Designed and manufactured in Australia, the radios are built to be smart, adaptable and rugged, with a number of features aimed at improving usability both on and off the track.
Across the range, the radios feature high-contrast colour displays (so you can see them in bright sunlight), along with user-customisable buttons that let drivers tailor the controls to their vehicle setup.
Audio clarity has also been a focus, with the radios featuring powerful speaker microphones designed to cut through cabin noise. Something many drivers will appreciate when travelling on corrugated roads or in a noisy diesel.

One of the standout features of the GME XRS Connect UHF radio platform is its integration with the XRS Connect smartphone app.
Enabled via Bluetooth, users can now access a number of advanced features through their phone, including the ability to create and share scan lists and quickly manage channel settings.
The system also provides instant access to the Australian and New Zealand commercial analogue frequency database, giving users a convenient way to configure their radio for different regions or communication requirements.
In addition, the radios support voice playback, location services, crewtalk functionality and active mute, giving touring groups additional tools for convoy communication.
Like many modern connected devices, XRS Connect radios are designed to evolve over time.
The radios support software updates through the smartphone app, allowing users to keep their units up to date with the latest features and improvements without needing to replace the hardware. GME says it plans to release at least one new upgrade for the platform each year.
