The release of the Next Generation PY Ford Ranger and Everest certainly saw the Australian off-road community sit up and take notice. With any new vehicle platform release, let alone ones as important as the new Ranger and Everest, there is a mad scramble from the aftermarket industry. They need to learn how the vehicle operates. Areas that could be improved upon. And spend time developing exciting new products to bring to market.
Ford had a huge advantage in the partnership between them and ARB, to develop off-road accessories. This meant you could drive your brand-new Ford Ranger or Everest off the showroom floor decked out with ARB gear. But what about aftermarket hard parts for these new four-wheel drives?
What’s the story?
Well, Bendix has just announced the release of their Heavy Duty brake pads to suit the 2023 Ford Ranger and Everest. This is to suit both front-and-rear brakes. Bendix tells us their new pads have been engineered for extreme conditions. Perfectly suited for four-wheel drives basically. One key feature is the inclusion of Enhanced Phenolic Resin (EPR), which is said to offer increased material strength and heat resistance at high temperatures.
The real advantage of a product like the Heavy Duty brake pads from Bendix, is for those carrying or towing heavy loads. These pads have been designed for hard work. Another key ingredient in the mix is the use of an exclusive insulation layer for cooler braking as well as longer pad life. This insulation sits between the backing plate and friction material.
The Heavy Duty brake pads from Bendix also feature Blue Titanium Stripe technology. The coolest thing about this technology is there’s no need to bed the brake pads in installation. Saving you time and money.
While it is early days, it’s exciting to see new products being released for the PY Ranger and Everest. Here’s hoping we see complete brake upgrade solutions roll out soon, for those wanting to take things even further.
