This recipe is no secret, but it is mine. It’s easy to make, easy to remember, and by preparing it ahead of time, tastes all the more delicious on a cold morning out camping. And for the low low price of remembering the number two (you’ll figure out why when you read the ingredients), I’ll let you claim it as your own secret recipe – you’re welcome.

INGREDIENTS
2 cups self raising flour
2 cups milk
2 eggs
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
METHOD
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl
After letting batter sit for 5 minutes, pour into a zip lock bag
Remove air before sealing bag and freeze
Pack away in esky or fridge-freezer and defrost a few hours before use
Cut a hole in the bottom corner of the bag and pour onto a hot greased pan
BERRY COMPOTE RECIPE
This is going to be one of the easiest fancy thing you ever make and tastes amazing, hot or cold.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups berries (pictured are frozen raspberries and blueberries)
2 tbps caster sugar
1 tbsp water
METHOD
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer on a low heat, stirring occasionally for 5–7 mins until reduced. Let it cool before transferring to a jar or serve hot over pancakes (or muesli, porridge or cake).
