Mazda has given the BT-50 its biggest update since the current model launched in 2020, and it’s ready to tackle Australia’s toughest terrain.
With fresh styling, a refined interior, and the same reliable diesel power under the bonnet, this update brings more features, more tech, and more options across the range.
The new Mazda BT-50’s bold new face features a redesigned front bumper, a sharper radiator grille, and unique LED headlights, giving it a more aggressive road presence. The back end gets a redesigned tailgate with a mountain-inspired ridged design, new LED tail lights, and a larger Mazda logo—because, let’s be honest, you want people to know what you’re driving.
Inside, things have been fine-tuned, too. The infotainment system is now more intuitive, with an upgraded Multi-Information Display (MID) up to seven inches, sitting alongside the main touchscreen to keep all your important driving data within easy reach.
Mazda has stuck with the tried-and-true 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder for most of the new BT-50 lineup, pushing out 140kW and 450Nm—enough grunt for towing and off-road adventures. The entry-level XS 4×2 gets a 1.9-litre diesel with 110kW and 350Nm, aimed at those who don’t need the extra muscle.
Both engines come paired with a six-speed auto, keeping things simple and reliable.
The new Mazda BT-50 is available in Single Cab, Freestyle Cab, and Dual Cab configurations across five model grades: XS, XT, XTR, GT, and SP. Here’s how they stack up:
Every BT-50 comes stacked with Mazda’s full suite of safety tech, including:
For those who like to tow, this should be music to your ears.
Mazda knows Aussies love to make their rigs their own, so they’ve put together over 100 Genuine Accessories developed and tested specifically for local conditions.
As for colours, you’ve got seven options:
