We’ve used soft shackles in the past, and have been impressed with the design. Being light in weight, and flexible, they are easy to store and use in the field if you have the right recovery points (that is, ones with smooth edges). These soft shackles are from NSW-based Ozoffroad, and are available in three different lengths – short, medium and long. Best of all, it doesn’t matter what size you buy: They all cost just $25. According to Ozoffroad they are rated to 8T, and the supplier has them sitting on its shelves ready to go. If you are after a lighter and potentially safer alternative to traditional hard metal shackles, this is a product you need to check out.

Just watched the ozoffroad video, my god I wonder how many people may use this misinformation one day and maybe KILL themselves or some other poor bugger.
First up the supposed expert uses the soft shackle on the Sharp Edges of the snatch block, second the winch rope hook is loaded on the beak of the hook and hard up against the Safety Clip and third the Shackle has just been turned into a possible missile by pulling it on the sides of the shackle, making it the Weakest link in this pathetic setup.
Why do you people proclaim yourselves as Experts then go and present crap like this that may get some poor bugger killed, you certainly don’t have any training or qualifications going by this poor excuse of a safety demo, Regards Frank.
