Ryco has claimed first place in the Australian Financial Review’s (AFR) BOSS Magazine ‘Most Innovative Companies’ awards for the Manufacturing & Consumer Goods sector, thanks to their N99 MicroShield Cabin Air Filters for commercial vehicles. After five years of consistently placing in the top 10, 2024 marks their breakthrough to the top spot.

Designed specifically with drivers in mind, Ryco’s cabin filters aren’t your usual vehicle filter. Unlike those that work on protecting the engine, this range is focused entirely on providing a cleaner, healthier environment for the driver. It’s a key upgrade for trucks that often come with basic cabin filters, making a real difference for those spending long hours on the road.

Ryco’s General Manager of Engineering, Innovation & Quality, Alastair Hampton, explained their approach: “For a lot of truck drivers, their cabin serves as their office, their bedroom, and their main living space while on the road. With that in mind, it’s critical that they have the cleanest environment possible while on the road, and the best way to achieve that is with efficient filtration in the HVAC system.”

The N99 MicroShield Cabin Air Filter filters particles down to 0.3 microns with 99.7% efficiency. The three-layer design starts with an anti-viral pre-filter, followed by an activated carbon layer that blocks odours and finishes with an electrostatically charged layer that catches even the smallest particles. The filter also features a 360° air-tight seal to prevent any air from bypassing the filter – a common problem with some original equipment filters.

Hampton added, “People are most often certain that the only percentage of polluted air they’re comfortable inhaling is 0%. We’re proud to have designed something that gets as close to that as possible, unseen elsewhere in the market.”

Now available for over 500,000 trucks in Australia and New Zealand, the N99 MicroShield range is setting a new standard in cabin air filtration, ensuring drivers get the cleanest air possible while on the road.
